Sandwich Bay is truly unique.  It contains a private coastal estate accessed through a security gate,  a handful of grand properties and a wonderfully long stretch of shingle and sand that blends beautifully into nature reserves, golf courses and coastal walking routes.  The sound here is different;  waves, birds, wind in the dunes and almost nothing else.   The Dunes is a beautifully appointed first-floor apartment, uniquely positioned directly opposite the beach with uninterrupted sea views from nearly all of the rooms with tables and chairs positioned for exactly the purpose of sitting and watching the waves.   Inside, the atmosphere is immediately one of calm. Soft natural light fills every room, the living space is generous and well considered, and the dining table seating six makes it as well suited to a group holiday as a couples break sharing with friends. The wide open sands of Sandwich Bay beach are directly outside the front door.

Royal St George’s Golf Club – host of The Open Championship – sits practically on the estate boundary. Prince’s Golf Club is directly adjacent. Royal Cinque Ports in Deal is fifteen minutes by car. For a golf group, the location is almost incomprehensibly well placed. For everyone else, Sandwich town is ten minutes away, Deal is fifteen and boasts artisan cafes, restaurants and bars as well as independent shops and art galleries.  

Peaceful, private and genuinely unlike anywhere else in the Foreland Cottages collection. Deck chairs and beach towels are provided. All you need to bring is the decision to slow down.

The Dunes is arranged entirely on one floor. A wide, light-filled apartment with the sea on one side and tennis court on the other.

The living room has a three-seater sofa, two large armchairs, a window reading nook, smart TV and dining table seating six, all with sea views, all opening onto the private balcony.
The kitchen is fully equipped for a group who want to cook properly and eat together with the sea in front of them.
Three bedrooms, each with sea views. The king bedroom has a wardrobe, dressing table and sea view reading nook with an ensuite bath and over-bath shower. The twin bedroom is set up as an Austrian double with a sofa seating area and sea view bay window. The bunk room has a double and single bunk — ideal for children or a relaxed third couple.
Deck chairs and beach towels are stored in the hallway cupboard. Cross the road and the beach is right there.
