A minute from the beach and tucked into the quiet, pretty streets of Deal’s conservation area, WingCo is a house for slowing down. There’s no television here, and that’s rather the point. What there is: WiFi when you need it, art at every turn, and an easel waiting for whoever feels the urge to paint, write, or simply sit and think.

The house takes its name, with a wink, from a former resident who was a wing commander whose legacy still shapes the town. His bequest funded Deal’s new seafront Sound Mirror sculpture, unveiled in 2026 and an easy stroll from the front door. Today WingCo belongs to a couple with a wonderful collector’s eye, and it shows: original seascapes, abstracts and characterful finds fill every room.

The sitting room is the showstopper. It is flooded with light and opens through to a garden room and the established garden beyond which is generously large for this part of Deal, with roses, flowers and a small patio for sitting out. Settle in for the afternoon, or take your coffee into the garden room where a pair of chairs and that easel catch the morning sun. There’s a comfortable dining room with a guest library, a fully equipped kitchen, and very comfortable bedrooms.

Beyond the door: The sea in one direction and independent cafés and the conservation area’s prettiest streets in the other. WingCo is for the guest who wants to recharge… to walk the beach, lose an afternoon to a book or a paintbrush, take inspiration in their surroundings to finish writing that chapter, or generally let the city fall away.

Ground Floor: Entrance to coat and boot store, door to dining room with dining table seating 4 and book library for guest use. Walkway to fully equipped kitchen. Walkway to sitting room – the showstopper of the house, with spectacular light and view into the garden room and garden. Seating for 4. Doors to the garden room with seating for two (perfect for morning coffee) and an easel for those seeking a space for creating outlet. Doors to small patio area and fully established garden (3 steps) – a large space for the conservation area.

Stairs to first floor: Hallway with doors to Bathroom: Bath with over bath shower, toilet, basin and cupboard to washing machine. Master bedroom: With king size bed, desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, side table and views of the garden. Second bedroom: with double bed, bedside tables and cupboard.

Notes: Fabulous artworks throughout. Sitting room fireplace decoration only. Quiet area – 1 minute to the beach. Property not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

The nearest station is Deal which is on the direct Southeastern high-speed line from London St Pancras — approximately 90 minutes. A short taxi ride connects the station to the property.
