The Barn
St Margarets at Cliffe

At the end of a long hedge-lined driveway lies another world: a peaceful cottage where horses graze beyond the windows and the White Cliffs are on your doorstep
Sleeps 6 | 3 Bedrooms | 1.5 Bathrooms | Private Parking | English Country Setting | Private Path to the White Cliffs of Dover Walks.

Set within a beautifully converted barn on a private Kentish farm, The Barn is one of five thoughtfully styled cottages tucked away in this serene, green corner of St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe. Travel down the long, hedge-lined driveway and you arrive at a farm with roots in the 1800s, once known as “Britain’s Frontline Farm”. No longer worked, it’s now lovingly restored and cared for by the same family who’ve held it for generations.

With three bedrooms and a generous open-plan heart, The Barn is made for a family or two coming together. Light fills the living area, where comfy sofas, a smart TV and an electric fire invite slow evenings in. Cook together in the fully equipped kitchen, gather round the big country dining table, or carry supper outside to the sun-trap patio beneath wide valley skies. The bedrooms are spacious and restful, and throughout the cottage picture windows frame the fields and grazing horses.  Beyond the lavender-edged door: there’s no private garden, but you have your own outdoor seating, plus a covered communal barn for shared al fresco dining and private parking on site. A path leads straight into the woodland and on to the famous White Cliffs, with South Foreland Lighthouse and St Margaret’s Bay both a short walk away.
