ENES sits at the top of a quiet private road above St Margaret’s Bay, named for Edward and Nancy Eason, who built the house in 1928, and whose family has held onto it ever since. Nearly a century on, that history is everywhere you look and a written history of ENES awaits any guest curious enough to ask for it.

Inside, a sense of family history runs through every room, though the comforts are thoroughly modern. The kitchen carries hints of the house’s past within a fully updated fit-out, done with real care. The dining room and sitting room are built for a full house together – round tables, open fires, and space enough for everyone to gather. Ten beds are spread across five bedrooms, each keeping its own period charm, from tiled fireplaces to furniture with stories of its own. Outside, an acre of garden wraps around the house, and with only a scatter of houses along the road, ENES feels entirely its own. Mixed lawns and wildflower borders, a grass tennis court, and private woodland with seating tucked among the trees for evenings around the fire. The garden backs directly onto National Trust white cliffs, with a secret path leading to South Foreland Lighthouse in just twelve minutes, and the bay itself only ten minutes on foot.

ENES is a house for families who want room to spread out; Children free to run the garden, mornings for yoga on the lawn or an easel by the window and evenings for smores in the woods, with the whole of St Margaret’s Bay just beyond the gate.

Ground Floor: Front door into boot room and Dining room which is the heart of the house. Left to door through to Sitting Room with large wrap around sofa and multiple armchairs. A cupboard full of DVDs and vintage board games. Open wood burning fireplace and TV. Patio doors to patio. Right to door through to a fully equipped Kitchen and utility room including cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and all items needed to cook family meals. Door to lower floor Bedroom including double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. From the Dining Room is lower floor bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. Stairs to upper floor.

First Floor: Right to left of stairwell – Doors through to: Bathroom with bath, over-bath shower, toilet and basin. Dorm Style Bedroom with four single beds, two chest of drawers and wardrobes. Master Bedroom with Super-king bed, side tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe. First Twin Bedroom with two singles, side table, chest of drawers and hanging space. Second Twin Bedroom with chest of drawers and wardrobe space. Bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.

Outside: An acre of wrap around garden with manicured lawn and wildflowers, garden furniture, grass tennis court and private woodland.

Note: All bedrooms are on the rear of the property and have a view overlooking the gardens.

Parking: Private parking on drive for one car, and on the private road for up to a further two cars.
