Tucked away in the countryside at St Margaret’s at Cliffe, Reach Court Farm Cottages is a place to slow down, settle in and enjoy the best of Kent’s coastline, clifftops and countryside.  With five individual cottages, peaceful surroundings and private woodland walks leading towards the magnificent White Cliffs, it’s a wonderful base for everything from quiet escapes to time together with family and friends.

St Margaret’s at Cliffe sits at the southern end of the Foreland Cottages coastline, with everything else within easy reach:

  • St Margarets Bay -> 20 minutes walk
  • Foreland Lighthouse -> 10 minute walk
  • Dover Castle -> 1.5 hour walk / 10 min drive
  • Kingsdown → — 3 miles north along the clifftop.
  • Walmer → — A short drive or coastal hike.
  • Deal → — 15 minutes by car.

FAQs

Is St Margarets  good for walking?
Yes. Several coastal walking routes including sections of the Saxon Shore Way and White Cliffs trails, can start at the cottages.

Are St Margarets walks suitable for children?
Yes — the path are easy walking suitable for children. The clifftop section requires the usual care near cliff edges but is well-walked and clearly defined.

Can you see France from St Margarets Bay?
On clear days, the coastline of France can sometimes be seen across the English Channel from the cliffs above the bay.

How far are the cottages from the beach?
A gentle countryside walk takes you down to St Margaret’s Bay, a peaceful shingle cove with the Coastguard Inn nestled right on the shore. Kingsdown beach is also reachable on foot along the cliff-top path.
 
Can I walk to Dover Castle and the White Cliffs?
Yes – One of the great joys of staying here. A private path leads straight from the cottage into woodland and out onto the famous White Cliffs. From there you can walk the whole length of the cliffs, finishing at the Dover White Cliffs visitor centre, or carry on to Dover Castle itself. South Foreland Lighthouse is a short walk along the way.
